Celebrate Life, Celebrate Barbados Festivals

Barbados, a small paradise island in the Caribbean is celebrating annual festivals that every tourist loves to celebrate with the locals.

All throughout the year, various Barbados festivals are observed in the island to celebrate the different aspects of life and culture in Barbados. Among the most famous festivals are Barbados Music Festivals, Gospel Festival, Sports and Food Festivals. You will know when these festivals are celebrated when you spend a vacation in Barbados.

There are 3 different Barbados Music Festivals, the Jazz, Reggae and Crop-Over Festivals. The Jazz Festival is a week-long activity in January. The Reggae Festival is celebrated every April and is considered to be the largest festival in the island. The Crop-Over Festival is one of the most important festivals in the island. It has been celebrated since the 18th century to honor the end of the harvest of sugarcane. This month-long festival is held in July and is concluded with Grand Kadooment, a street parade of upbeat music and colorful costumes.

Gospelfest is a celebration of the religiosity of the locals and is usually observed in May.

A Taste of Barbados is the 9-day Food Festival normally held in October. This festival aims to promote local cuisines and is enjoined by international chefs.

There are still other festivals worth mentioning in this article, but these ones are just among the favorite and highly enjoined by tourists and vacationers in Barbados.
